Searching For A Solution

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

This is the project I started on Thanksgiving.  It’s intended to be a cowl that wraps around the neck and buttons up the side.

Everything was working so well.  I was enjoying knitting the lace pattern.  I enjoy the beautiful colours and the softness of the yarn.

However, I have now reached the absolute end of the small ball of leftover yarn that I had to make this project, and it is about 2 inches too short!  The yarn is lovely, but it is an absolute one of a kind, handspun blend of two different colourways of hand dyed roving.  It’s impossible to replicate.

I now have a small dilemma: do I rip back and knit the entire thing so it is narrower, or do I add a little bit of another ball of yarn and finish it up?

I’m not going to make a rash decision and rip out all my hard work tonight.

What would you do?
